|Ralph Lauren Takes Down Pants|

It would seem Ralph Lauren aren't quite so happy with their art department as they used to be. A recent advert that was heavily (and badly) photoshopped made it on to the interweb for all to criticise and poke fun at. Good old Ralph was a little displeased and sent nasty letters to the various sites to take it down. Well we've gone one better, and put it up. That's the power of the interweb.
Admittedly it maybe a little bit of a misleading headine as I'm using the word 'pants' in the American sense, ie a pair of trousers, and even then it's not accurate we're talking about an advert for a pair of trousers, but that's artistic licence for you.
Here's the story; a blog that I read frequently, being a bit of a digital artist myself, Photoshop Disasters recently had some content mysteriously disappear. The said content was the image you see here of an impossibly proportioned woman trying to sell jeans. A perfect entry for Photoshop Disasters you would think, but no. Ralph Lauren was very unhappy, and probably understandably embarrassed, and wrote a nasty DMCA takedown letter to blogspot who, being the pussies they are, automatically took down the offending page without consulting with the site admin.
However, Ralph was a little too late, as the image had started circulating, being a fantastic example of shit photoshop work (they surely must have got a child to do it, no one who's actual job is to do this stuff would save that, let alone submit it as a finished piece of artwork), and ended up on BoingBoing.
Ralph was quick off the mark and sent them a DMCA takedown too.
BoingBoing stuck two fingers up at Ralph saying:
We thought we'd also show fat Ralph the power of the interweb, and post it on here. Hopefully they'll soon realise that the more they complain the worse things get. They should just bite the bullet and get on with making more amusing skinny adverts.
